kim van ming born in Seoul, grown up in Antwerp, is an eclectic artist.
She is been studying mathematics in Leuven and after her Ph.D. at the University of Chicago, started to make art. Her main topic -as artist- can be found in the social behavior of animal or better social behavior and animals being the subject animals, humans and animals, animals made by humans, animals looking like humans. She is collecting and using material of any kind: photos, texts, objects, videos...  She is interested in the way we look at animals and the way animals look back, as if looking was liking: not only appreciating but also being alike, the same.
Her work is been collected and shown in her house merely to friends and relatives. Her first public exhibition "kim van ming" will be in May in Seoul at Space Hamilton, 66 Kaywondaehangno (Naesondon), Uiwang-si, Gyeonggi-do, Korea 437-712
